Joshua Gragg, owner of Joshua’s Auto Sales

How long have you been in business?

We’ve been in business for 21 years and at our current location for about 3 years.

Why did you choose Anadarko?

This is my home and where I was raised. I would mainly say that I started my business here because it’s my community. We have a lot of good customers and people here.

In your words describe your business:

We offer great customer service and quality pre-owned vehicles that are affordable for the working man. We try and get the customers what they want. We also offer services for your car such as detailing, oil changes, etc.

Any recent updates at your business?

Some may not know this but each year we take a percentage of our sales from one month and we donate it to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

What is your biggest challenge as a business owner?

Our biggest challenge is fighting with the economy so that our customers have the resources to put themselves into a quality car.

What is the most rewarding part about your job?

The customers, without a doubt, and helping somebody get the vehicle they want. Getting someone approved on a car and seeing their eyes light up.

If you had a magic wand to fix anything in your business or the city what would you do?

When everyone else is making money that means we’re making money. And so I would wish that other businesses in town and people are prospering.

What has been the best day of running your business?

I sold six cars in one day after September 11, 2001, and at the time I was running everything by myself. Obviously remembering that time because it was a tragedy, but I like to stay positive, and so I went into work and just kept my head up. It turned out to be one of my most profitable days.

Why is it important to join the Anadarko Chamber?

The camaraderie that you get with other businesses because we feel like we’re in this together to build up our community. The Chamber has a new website which is a great resource for information like the community calendar and online job directory. When you belong to the Chamber it gives you a sense of pride knowing you are a member of an organization that does good for the community.
