How long have you been in business?

I started in January of 2000 so about 16 years. After 26 years of owning Lee’s muffler shop I was ready for something different.

Why did you choose Anadarko for your business?

It was my hometown and I’ve had opportunities to go other places but I wanted to stay here where I grew up. I was born here and wanted to keep my agency here.

In your words describe your business:

We are an independent agency, which means we write for a number of companies and the advantage to that is we can find a good fit for everybody’s needs because everyone’s needs are different.

What is your biggest challenge as a business owner?

I enjoy helping people with their needs and I don’t see it as a big challenge.

What is the most rewarding part about your job?

Somebody that comes into our business and we are able to help them with their needs or problems through insurance–that is rewarding.

Getting to know the people and their needs and then being able to help them, which goes for our customers and Walmart associates.

If you had a magic wand to fix anything in your business or community, what would you do?
I would bring everybody in the community together with the same core values, really strive for excellence, and just make Anadarko the best that it can be.

How long have you been in business?
We’ve been open a little over three years.

In your words describe your business?
We offer a way to bring Oklahoma wines and other products to the consumer, straight from the field to the bottle or jar. Our company specializes in Oklahoma wines, jams, jellies and salsa.

What is your biggest challenge as a business owner?
Our main facility is located just west of Anadarko, but it is difficult to get drive-by traffic to stop in to the store. We are still working on getting a customer base out here.

What is the most rewarding part about your job?
All of it–I would say just working for myself and doing something that I’m compassionate about and providing a good quality product that our customers enjoy.

entwinedvines_2

If you had a magic wand to fix anything in your business, what would you do?
There are two things that I would focus on which would be the size of the business so to grow it, and to update Oklahoma’s antiquated wine shipping laws. I think it would be a lot better if I could ship wine directly to the consumer.

Why is it important to join the Anadarko Chamber?
It is important to be part of the community. The Chamber is able to help the community and businesses with promotional outreach, hosting festivals, and general advertising.

How long have you been in business?
Subway has been here for a long time, I’ve personally been with the company for 16 years. I remember this space used to be a Mexican restaurant and I think a beauty parlor at one time.

In your words describe your business:
I think that overall we encourage healthy eating. We offer an opportunity for our customers to get waited on in a timely manner. Most people may not know that we do offer catering, online ordering, and even breakfast! We are open at 7:00 am during the week.

What is your biggest challenge as a business owner?
We like to hire high school age kids and give them their first job and give them that opportunity to learn the value of a dollar. However, teaching them work responsibility is a very important job. It can be tough to train workers who are good employees but then they move on to bigger and better things.

What is the most rewarding part about your job?
I love seeing people that are happy. It is great seeing our repeat customers that keep coming back. I’ve also seen people that choose to eat healthy and see the progress that they make in their fitness journey.

subway_2

If you had a magic wand to fix anything in your business, what would you do?
For the business I would get a bigger facility with a drive-thru! I think a lot of people would appreciate that, or even expand to delivery because a lot of working folks only have a limited amount of time for lunch.

Why is it important to join the Anadarko Chamber?
It is important to be involved so that way you are able to stay connected to what is going on in the city. You will know what the upcoming events are going to be. It will also help promote your business.

How long have you been in business?

The company was started 46 years ago. Our grandfather started it, my dad continued the business and so we are the third generation.

In your words describe your business:

We are a pre-engineered metal fabricator. Our primary business is fabricating metal roofing components.

What is your biggest challenge as a business owner?

Hiring and keeping great people. In our experience, sometimes it is better to take people who have no experience in the field of welding, etc. and we actually end up doing better than if we had someone with a lot of bad habits from previous training. We have a great core of employees which has taken years to build.

What is the most rewarding part about your job?

The best feeling is having satisfied customers. We are proud of the product we provide them.

If you had a magic wand to fix anything in your business, what would you do?

It would be great to continue to increase our efficiency and be able to produce our product as fast as possible for our customers.

Why is it important to join the Anadarko Chamber?

For us it is mainly the networking opportunities, there are people in this area that may not know we are here and the services we provide.

taylorbuildingsystems_3

Anything you would like to share with our audience?

We just want to thank the Anadarko community who has been very supportive of us as we have grown. We get as many customers around Anadarko as we do in Chickasha. Our hours are 8:00 – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and Saturday 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. We are located at 2479 CS 2865, Chickasha, OK 73018 and you can call 405-222-0751 for more information.
